The challenge

The guidance may be published. Your working procedures still need to exist.

For many premises, the difficult part is not understanding that preparation matters. It is turning guidance into documents people can actually use, brief and review.

Scattered procedures

Key documents live in different folders, inboxes or old versions.

Bring them into one working set.
Unbriefed teams

Staff, volunteers, contractors and hirers may not share the same instructions.

Create briefings people can actually use.
No review trail

Updates, exercises and actions are hard to evidence later.

Keep dated records and version notes.
Blank-page paralysis

Everyone agrees preparation matters, but no one wants to start from nothing.

Start from editable documents.

The system

One practical system. Five clear stages.

Move from uncertainty to a dated first version your team can brief, exercise and improve.

Could Martyn's Law apply to your premises?

Answer a few simple questions about the premises, its use and the number of people who may reasonably be present. We will provide an initial preparation pathway and the most relevant next step.

Built to make preparation usable

PublicReady creates practical tools for organisations responsible for places where the public gather. Our role is to help turn published requirements and guidance into organised working documents, clearer briefings and reviewable preparation records.

PublicReady is independent. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Home Office, ProtectUK, Counter Terrorism Policing or the Security Industry Authority.

Is Martyn's Law already in force?

The Act has Royal Assent and official guidance has been published, but substantive duties are not yet in force. PublicReady is designed to support early organisation during the implementation period.

Does the checker decide whether I am in scope?

No. It gives an initial preparation pathway from the information you provide. It is not a legal scope decision and should be checked against current statutory guidance.

Is PublicReady official?

No. PublicReady is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Home Office, ProtectUK, Counter Terrorism Policing or the Security Industry Authority.

Will buying the kit make my premises compliant?

No product can guarantee compliance. The kit helps you create organised working documents, briefings and review records. It is preparation support, not certification or legal advice.

Can I edit the documents?

Yes. The kit is designed around editable Word and Excel files, supported by PDF reference copies where useful.

Can volunteers use them?

Yes. The wording is intended for staff and volunteer settings, with plain-English instructions and briefings.

Can I use one purchase across several premises?

The Starter and Plus licences are for one premises. Multi-site use needs a multi-site licence so responsibilities, dashboards and support can be set up clearly.

What happens when guidance changes?

The Plus package includes updates through 30 June 2027. Other update notices will be dated and versioned so owners can see what changed.

Is this legal or specialist security advice?

No. PublicReady provides practical preparation documents. It does not replace legal, regulatory or specialist protective security advice.

Which file formats are included?

The kit uses editable Word and Excel files, with supporting PDF copies and quick-reference documents.
